Jordan's Singing

JORDAN stunned the audience at the recording of Westlife's ITV Christmas special by performing a note-perfect version of When I Fall In Love.

The lads had been worried that Jordan would hijack She's The One, which is being screened on December 11, but Simon Cowell insisted she go on the show.

After seeing her performance on the programme - which will also feature Hollywood star Kevin Spacey - even they conceded she'd done a good job. "She surprised everyone," says a source. "This could definitely be the start of something big."

Eminem is highest download entry Westlife the 2nd

Eminem is the highest new entry on this week's download chart, with Just Lose It going straight in at number two.

But the rapper didn't manage to outsell veteran rockers U2 with Vertigo, which is spending its second week in a row at number one, the fifth week in total.

Westlife are this week's second highest entry with Ain't That A Kick In The Head going in at four.

Other new entries include My Boo by Usher in at 10, and My Prerogative by Britney in at 16

Celebrity feuds: Jordan v Westlife

She's never been their favourite person - but now it sounds like Jordan is really about to step on Westlife's toes

Fighting talk: Earlier this year, stories were rife that Jordan was in talks with pop guru Simon Cowell about landing a record deal. 'I've heard her and she can sing,' said Mr Nasty at the time. 'I couldn't personally do a record but I wouldn't rule anything out.' Simon, of course, is a big cheese at BMG - the record label which also looks after...

Westlife. The boys have just released their latest album, a Rat Pack tribute called 'Allow us to be Frank'. Part of their promotion for the new CD includes an ITV1 Christmas special called She's the One, which will be screened after the X Factor final on 11 December. So we're talking big viewing figures, folks.

With a celebrity audience lined up - and Kevin Spacey booked as special guest crooner - the boys have understandably been excited about their Christmas show. Erm, until now, that is. Because despite saying in August: 'I'm not going to be working with Jordan,' it looks like Simon Cowell has changed his mind. Yup, he's recruited the former glamour girl to perform the evergreen classic 'It Had To Be You' on Westlife's show - and the Irish foursome are distinctly less than thrilled about it.

One of the reasons is likely to be that Jordan used to have unrequited crushes on two members of the band, Kian and Mark. 'She said [Kian] was gorgeous but he was scared witless by her,' says an insider. 'He just ignored her but it was embarrassing.' Things got so bad that a year ago, the lads took the step of banning Jordan from their album launch party.

Punch-up power: 50 per cent - being where she's not really wanted has never stopped Jordan in the past, fellas!

It had to be her: We're not sure what we're looking forward to more on 11 December - hearing Jordan singing a jazz classic, or watching the fixed smiles on Westlife's faces when she does.

Westlife slips into town for exclusive gig

BOYBAND sensations Westlife swung into town to play a string of hits to their biggest fans.

The Irish lads also performed tracks from their new album, Allow us to be Frank, a collection of their favourite hits from the Rat Pack era.

During their whirlwind stop Leeann Black, 28, from Saltcoats, was among the VIPs who bagged tickets to the secret gig.

She said: ¡§I can¡¦t believe I just saw Westlife. To be treated to an exclusive performance from Westlife was a dream come true and their new songs are fantastic.¡¨

The intimate concert was hosted by West Sound Radio lads and went down a storm with lucky locals.

Laura Duckworth, 12, of Ochiltree, Caroline Kennedy, 14, of Alloway, Natalie Graham, 14, of Prestwick and Colette Duckworth, 13, of Ochiltree met the lads at the gig.

Westlife finally sing Band Aid track

Westlife have finally been allowed to sing the Band Aid 20 single, after slamming Live Aid organiser Sir Bob Geldof for snubbing them from the charity track.

The singers were furious they were omitted from the star-studded re-recording of 1984 hit Do They Know It's Christmas? to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the single and to raise money for refugees in the Darfur region of Sudan.

But they have been now invited to sing the hit at London's Wembley Arena for a charity Popworld gig on December 2 reports Femalefirst.

Westlife Women (Interview Jodi)

Dame Evadne and Dame Hilda have rooted around the internet Here's a collection of photographs of the lads other halves. Kian's recent and steady girlfriend is Jodie Albert, actress. Kian Egan dating Jodi Albert ( soap actress, Hollyoaks ) 11th June 2003

Hollyoaks' Jodi Albert reveals how her boyfriend rang her bell...Although pretty Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert has known Kian Egan since she was 15, it took 5 years for love to blossom between the soap stunner and the Westlife singer. Former record label mates from her days in pop group Girl Thing, Jodi and Kian were reunited after a call from the heart...

"It started with a phone call," smiled Jodi recently, revealing just how she ended up part of a select gang nicknamed The Westlife Wives. "He said that the band were playing in Manchester and asked if I wanted to come down to see them. I went with my sister to catch up with him and when i walked into his dressing room, there was the same spark that had been there since i was 15 years old. That night he told me he liked me - it was the moment I had been waiting for."
One year on, their partnership is still going strong. Jodi's 21st birthday saw Kian splash out on a diamond Cartier ring for the glamorous gal, but she's keen to point out that they're still in no hurry to marry.

"It's not an engagement ring!" she exclaims. "We're just enjoying each others company and not planning anything. He looks after me in more ways than I could ever imagine. More than anything, we're best friends."

Westlife Band Aid anger

Snubbed ... Westlife hit out at Band Aid 20

BOY band Westlife have taken an angry swipe at Band Aid 20 after being snubbed for the chance to sing on the charity single.

The lads ¡X Shane Filan, 25, Kian Egan, 24, Mark Feehily, 24, and Nicky Byrne, 26 ¡X were asked by a radio presenter why they weren¡¦t on the new version of Do They Know It¡¦s Christmas.

Kian replied: ¡§We would have loved to have done Band Aid. But first of all, we weren¡¦t asked. Secondly, we weren¡¦t asked.¡¨

Then bandmate Shane chipped in: ¡§And thirdly, nobody asked us.¡¨

The outburst stunned the small crowd of fans at a gig for Birmingham radio station BRMB.

Westlife have sold more than 30 million records since they first hit the charts five years ago.

But fellow Irishman and Band Aid chief Sir Bob Geldof didn¡¦t invite them to appear with artists including Bono, Chris Martin and Paul McCartney.

A Band Aid 20 spokesman said last night: ¡§A shortlist was drawn up and unfortunately Westlife, along with many other acts, didn¡¦t make it. I hope they will support the single by going out and buying a copy.¡¨

APPLE¡¦S iTunes online music store has been blasted for refusing to sell the Band Aid single.
Other sites are selling the track for £1.49 and donating profits.

But iTunes ¡X the biggest online music seller ¡X said it sells all singles for 79p and refused to make an exception.
