THE RAZZ: BRYAN VOWS TO SPEAK THE TRUTH
Lee-Ann Fullerton And Beverley Lyons

BRYAN McFadden will attack the Catholic Church on his debut solo album. The former Westlife singer has a three-album deal and will vent his spleen after being constrained by the Irish boyband.

He said: 'The direction am taking with the first one is going to surprise everyone a lot and I mean a lot.

'I am working hard on it now and I am being totally honest. Maybe too honest.

'In Westlife we were all made to sign a three-album deal individually not as a band but as individuals.

'I have to honour my deal, I am tied into it, but no one can tell me which direction to take.

'So am doing it my way. I am going to tell my life story in music even if it upsets some people.'

Like Robbie Williams before him, Bryan will shatter Westlife's clean-cut image and be honest about his problems with the Church at school.

'I am going as far back as my childhood and school.

'The Christian Brothers will feature there people say not to attack the church, it's a powerful force in Ireland but I am not going to slag them I am just going to tell the truth about my schooldays and all the other stuff.'

Bryan & Nicky Reunite for Chloe...

Bryan McFadden and Nicky Byrne showed that they leave their ShowBiz egos in the dressing room when it comes to important issues such as making a dream come true for a terminally ill little girl...

Despite numerous iterations from both Westlife and their former member Bryan McFadden that they are still best of friends and fully support each other the media would have you believe they arch enemies.

And such is the nature of the media animal they only report on the negative side of ShowBiz and not on the numerous good deeds done by celebrities.

Take the example of wonderful little Chloe King (4) who is terminally ill with Congenital Heart Disease - her life's wish was to meet her idol Bryan McFadden.

A very good friend of her family contacted ShowBiz Ireland in a desperate attempt to contact Bryan and thus arrange a meeting. But, despite popular thinking, we don't have a direct line to the stars and could only point these good people in the direction of the PR company in charge of the Soccer Six event in Reading which, Bryan would be attending.

Chloe has been so ill that she has never been strong enough to attend a Westlife concert so her family took the opportunity of the Soccer Six tournament to let her and her brother Alex see their favourite pop star in the flesh.

When they got there Chloe could only watch her idol from the stands because of the crush of screaming fans around Bryan, but when one of the stewards heard her plight she quickly went over to Bryan and explained her tragic story.

Big hearted Bryan immediately instructed the steward to bring Chloe and her down and spent 10 minutes with her and according to her family "gave her kisses and cuddles".

Hearing she was Westlife's No.1 fan Bryan sped off and grabbed his former bandmate Nicky Byrne and the two got some photos will little Chloe.

A close friend of Chloe told ShowBiz Ireland: "They were the best of friends and Nicky was as concerned about Chloe as Bryan. They were both genuinely moved by Chloe and seemed more than happy to spend time with her, a Westlife fan".

Apparently this small gesture from Bryan and Nicky has put Chloe "on cloud nine".

Bryan also made a point of coming back over so that Alex, Chloe's brother could have a picture with him as he is also a Westlife fan.

Chloe's family told ShowBiz Ireland: "they would like to thank everyone at the Reading stadium for their help and to Bryan and Nicky for making one little girls dream come true and for making her life complete, they really were amazing".

Chloe has had to date 3 minor and 3 major operations and a stroke - she is in fact due to have her 7th and final op on the 28th July, which is the biggest and most dangerous.

Our hopes and prayers are with Chloe and her family...

Bryan Gets His ShowBiz Forum...

Westlife fans seem to have divided loyalties when it comes to Bryan McFadden's future career so ShowBiz Ireland decided to dedicate a separate forum to the talented Dubliner...

Ever since Bryan McFadden left Westlife a clear division has come between fans: those that support him and those that feel he has let them down.

And nowhere more apparent has this become then on ShowBiz Ireland's most popular message board dedicated to Westlife.

So avoid arguments amongst the most dedicated bunch of fans on the globe (ahem, apart from the Ronan Keating fans) we've given Bryan a new home.

So if you love or hate Bryan, if want to discuss his song writing, his wife Kerry, his new band Franklin, or anything else to do the star please go here...

Westlife Say Good-bye to Boyzone...

Irish boyband Westlife have broken another record previously held by Boyzone - the foursome have now appeared a record 34 times at the Point Theatre and now a plaque to prove it...

Westlife's manager Louis Walsh and The Point's promotion company MCD teamed up to place a reminder on the wall of the huge venue to Westlife's meteoric success.

The boys with Bryan McFadden played 24 times there and another 10 times without him making a record 34 gigs at the Dublin venue. And that doesn't count the other two concerts they have played in the city at other venues.

The four boys looked proud-as-punch when unveiled the plaque at the weekend - but with a possible Boyzone reunion on the cards maybe their record isn't as safe as it looks?

Bryan Takes Franklin for a Pint & a Smoke...

Ahead of flying out to Turkey to support Chris Doran at the Eurovision Bryan McFadden brought his other musical interest Franklin out for a drink in Lillies Bordello on Friday night...

It was a disappointing weekend for Bryan McFadden when the song he scribed for Ireland in the Eurovision If My World Stopped Turning only got a dismal 7 points.

But at least his other musical interest, South African band Franklin, seemed to be in high spirits when Bry brought them out for a drink and a cigarette at celebrity hot-spot Lillies Bordello before jetting off to Istanbul.

Also at the VIP club on Friday night was Coronation Street favourite Chris Finch.

Saturday night saw Samantha Mumba and Dream Team's Fletch (Terry Kiely) entertaining their respective groups of friends in the club.

Westlife MEN Arena Tour Review

Despite having recently lost one of their members, Westlife roll into Manchester undeterred and prove to their loyal fans that the four remaining boys can still put on an amazing show.

As darkness fills the Arena, Westlife emerge from under the stage in a blaze of lights and are greeted with rapturous applause and deafening screams from the thousands of people that fill the auditorium. They belt out Turnaround, the title track from their most recent album and after performing a number of classic songs and a quick costume change, the boys are back on stage on their trademark stools, taking the audience back to the group’s early days by singing number one hits such as Swear It Again and Flying Without Wings.

Westlife also showcase their impressive dancing skills as they once again burst onto the stage in front of their adoring fans. They take the opportunity to perform a number of songs by various other artists, including Help! by The Beatles, the theme from the hit TV series Friends, the classic Wham track Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and Everybody Needs Somebody To Love from The Blues Brothers. These prove to be the highlight of the evening leaving us wanting more.

Westlife do not disappoint as after another change of outfit they yet again emerge from under the stage and proceed to walk along a crane-like structure out into the awaiting audience so that those at the rear are also able to catch a close-up glimpse of their idols. They continue to wow the crowd with a mixture of the old and the new including Tonight and On My Shoulder. One lucky fan is then given the opportunity to be serenaded by their hearthrobs with the song My Love.

The finale of the show is a performance of their two most recent hits, Hey Whatever and their number one cover version of Barry Manilow’s Mandy. Both songs prove popular as the whole arena rises to their feet dancing and screaming. Despite the fab five now being the fab four, Westlife prove that they can still put on an electrifying and fantastic show and to quote Kian himself, it really does appear that, “Westlife are Unbreakable”. For now at least.

Please Sign this petition for Shane

To: Sligo council
This is a petition against the building of the new propsed building on the Carraroe roundabout.

The country side will not benefit from such a thing and also the location is not very considerate.

I have no doubts that a hotel of this size in Sligo could greatly boost your tourism but overlooking the Filan's house is very inconsiderate after he has spent so much time and effort on building it and all he will want is some privacy.

I am sure a re location would be just as successful.

Sincerely,

Westlife star pops question

Westlife star Kian Egan is to marry his Hollyoaks babe Jod Albert
next year.

The Irish heart-throb popped the question on a rare wekend off in
his home town of Sligo.

But-oh, the romance-he was lounging on the sofa when he blurted out
the proposal ans still hasn"t got round to buying a ring.

Apal said: "Kian was at home sitting on the couch when he popped the
question," Jodi who plays Debbi Dean in the Channel 4 soap, burst
into tears as she accepted.

Kian and Jodi, who have been dating for a year, plan to wed next
summer. When they do it will mean Mark Feehily is the only bachelor
left in the band-now being dubbed Wedlife.

But JOdi must wait until the summer for that ring. The pal
said:"Kian plans to get down the jeweller"s when the boys finish
their sellout tour in July."

Nicky's Tour Diary in Sunday World

Hi. Nicky here - 9th May 2004

Tuesday is going to be a big night in the history of Westlife when we play The Point as a four-piece for the first time.

We got an amazing reaction when we performed in Belfast earlier in the tour, so we're hoping that Dublin will be the same. This is a weird tour for us because every night we go out there's a new audience seeing us for the first time as the four of us. I'm sure some people were sceptical when they came along, but, so far so good, everyone loves us. The crowds have gone mental. Everyone has been blown away by the show.

There's no doubt that we've had to rise to a new challenge and lift our game. Bryan's decision to leave was a kick in the backside for us, but one that we probably needed. It's only when you get a bit of a shock like Bryan leaving or a new band arriving on the scene that you sit up and reassess what you're doing.

It's very easy in any walk of life to go through the motions and become laid back. But we could no longer do that. We had to change everything around. We've put in an enormous effort and I think it has paid off.

When the news broke about Bryan's departure we knew a lot of people would think it was all over for us. But we've worked harder than we've ever done before to prove them wrong.

Belfast was brill and we've added more shows there, so we'll be back. See you in Dublin this week!

A Solo life for Bry??

The former Westlife hunk is in talks about a multi-million pound recording contract with BMG-the same label that his old band is signed up to.

A source revealed:"Both parties are very hopeful that the talks will come to fruition. It is certainly on the cards and people are getting excited about it."

His music will be along the Westlife lines.
Bryan quit the boy-band in March saying he wanted to spend more time with his wife Kerry and their kids.

From Bryan McFat-un to Bryan McThin-un

WELL, well. I never thought I’d see the day when I reckoned BRYAN McFADDEN was a bit of a sex god.
Of all the lads in WESTLIFE I always had the former boy band star down as the pie-eating fatso who you wouldn’t touch with a barge pole – particularly given the competition of SHANE FILAN, KIAN EGAN, MARK FEEHILY and ... oh go on then, even NICKY BYRNE.

But I’m now eating a bit of pie myself – humble pie that is and I think a few of you might be too after seeing these before and after pictures.

Bryan has made a complete transformation, blossoming into the best-looking bloke on the celebrity party circuit.

Looking tanned and lean, he sported some rather fetching stubble on a night out at London’s 10 Rooms on Monday, right.

The only suspect thing about him was his uncool T-shirt with basketball legend SHAQUILLE O’ NEAL plastered across it.

Bryan says his slimline look is down him having kicked booze.

The hunk, married to I’m A Celebrity’s queen of the jungle KERRY McFADDEN, told me: “I’ve not been on any particular health kick, I’ve just stopped drinking over the last three weeks and I’ve lost more than a stone. I feel great.”

Maybe the other lads should take notice.

So special

Hunky boy band Westlife yesterday sent a touching message of support
to kid courage Caitlin McNally as she bravely battles leukaemia.

The heart-throb singers have been "hoping and praying" for the
Paisley schoolgirl, who is fighting for her life after being struck
down with the disease.

The excited nine-year-old was amongst patients who met the band when
they visited Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow.

But yesterday the lads - Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and
Nicky Byrne - sent a special personal message of support to little
Caitlin.

A spokesperson for the band said: "Westlife's fans mean the world to
them and they were delighted when they got the chance to visit
Caitlin and the other children at Yorkhill Hospital recently.

"They will be hoping and praying for a full recovery."

Caitlin's gran, Tricia Dolan, said: "She will be absolutely thrilled
at this. She loves Westlife and their songs and she was really
excited about meeting them at the hospital.

"But to know they've taken the time to send her a special message
will really mean a lot to her. It will make her day."

Caitlin and her little sister Megan both met the band during their
visit to Yorkhill.

Tricia added: "Caitlin is still talking about it even now.

"Both the girls got autographs from the band and they had their
pictures taken with the boys too.

"Whenever anybody comes to see Caitlin she shows off the photos,
which are up at her hospital bedside.

"She had a fantastic time, and was all dressed up for the occasion
with baubles on her hair and her fancy bangles on too."

She went on: "It was just so good to see Caitlin smiling.

"It really warms everybody's hearts to see her so happy."

Westlife's poignant message of support for Caitlin came just hours
after Provost Ronnie Burns praised the school girl's outstanding
courage and described her as a "shining example" to us all.

He presented her with one of his prestigious community awards during
a glittering ceremony in March.

As part of her prize she was whisked off on a VIP trip to London
with her family.

And it was there that the leukaemia - which had been in remission -
showed the first signs of returning.

Caitlin has now been in Yorkhill Hospital for three weeks bravely
battling the disease.

Doctors have decided her body is too weak to take any more
chemotherapy, and have instead started her on a course of strong
medication.

Her loving family - mum Kirstin, 29, dad James, 34, sister Megan,
five, brother James, seven, and gran Tricia, 52 - spend hours a day
at her bedside.

Tricia said: "We're just taking things one day at a time."

Bryan May Sing with Chris Doran...

Hold on to your large pinches of salt! According to media sources Bryan McFadden may sing backing with Final Four when Chris Doran performs at the Eurovision tomorrow night...

It has been a rollercoaster ride for Waterford man Chris Doran through the nerve wrecking months of the televised Euro Star competition but he couldn't be in a better position to walk away with the Eurovision crown with Bryan McFadden behind him.

Apparently Bryan scribed Chris' song If My World Stopped Turning while his wife Kerry was in the jungle on the show I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here... And according to sources he has written a few more songs for Chris' upcoming album.

Bryan has flown out to Istanbul to support Chris but the big surprise on the night may be the former Westlife frontman actually on the stage as one of the backing singers.

One of Chris' BIGGEST fans Irish glamour model Tess will be glued to the television when 18th act hits the stage... The recently signed to Pretty Rebel model agency stunner might just rip-off her T-shirt with joy if Chris wins - well here's hoping!

Make sure you support Chris and Bryan on the Eurovision tomorrow night...

Byline: JOE OLIVER

Kian to leave Westlife for Jordie??

POP insiders sensationally hinted last night that Kian Egan could be
next to quit Westlife because of the demands of his knockout
girlfriend.

Hollyoaks babe Jodi Albert has complained that she never gets to see
Kian because he is always so busy - and she's not happy.

The Channel 4 soap star insisted her Irish lover was not under the
thumb.

But she is gutted they don't get to spend a lot of time together.

"We're getting on really well, but we only get to see each other
about every two weeks, which is really annoying," she said.

"We're both doing lots of work at the moment and too busy to settle
down in one place."

The stunning brunette, who plays dusky Debbie Dean in Hollyoaks, met
the 23-year-old singer at a Party in the Park event a year ago.

At the time, Jodi had just quit pop group Girl Thing who had a Top
10 hit with Last One Standing. She has helped tame the Westlife bad
boy, who recently claimed his booze benders were a thing of the
past.

Bryan McFadden left Westlife in March so he could see more of bubbly
wife Kerry and their two young daughters.

He said he wanted to concentrate on his family life with the I'm A
Celebrity winner.

Westlife, who have had 12 No 1 hits and are currently on a 70-date
tour, drove fans wild last week when they played on a floating stage
at Laganside in Belfast for BBC Music Life.

But one insider revealed that beneath the surface tensions were
bubbling.

He said: "The boys really are worried in case Jodie makes Kian do a
Bryan and quit the band.

"One leaving was bad enough but if Kian was to go as well it really
would be the end."

Bryan Beaten By The Darkness...

Ex-Westlife hunk Bryan McFadden was left needing his former band-mates in the final of the Music Industry Soccer Six in Liverpool on Sunday when he was trashed by The Darkness...

He may be defiant about needing his former Westlife bandmates in relation to his music career but Bryan McFadden could have done with the fancy footwork of Nicky Byrne last Sunday when his team got beaten 4-1 by The Darkness.

Bryan's team had easily got to the final and were the favourites to take the trophy but his star player Jonathan Wilkes pulled a ligament in the semifinals leaving poor Bryan (who looks more like a former member of The Dubliners then a boyband with his ginger beard) a man down.

On the female side of things, the Liberty X girls beat girl-band CLEA 3-1 - but sadly they refused to swap jerseys at the end!

If you want to see the celebrities in action on Sunday 16th May they play at Leeds United's Elland Road. Celebrities already confirmed: Blazin Squad, Liberty X, Phixx, D-Side, Mark Owen.

And on Sunday 23rd May 2004 at Reading FC's Madejski Stadium. Celebrities already confirmed: Bryan McFadden, Blazin Squad, Starsalior, Snow Patrol, Goldie Lookin Chain, Liberty X, Phixx, D-Side...

Nicky Feeling better

Pop sensations Westlife will be back on stage tonight for the first time since band member Nicky Byrne fell ill last week. The band were forced to cancel two shows last Friday and Saturday in Brighton,England when Nicky suffered a painful kidney infection.

However the Taoiseach's son-in-law has made a good recovery over the weekend and will join the band on stage in Cardiff in Wales tonight.

"I believe he was in a lot of pain last week, but i think everything is fine now and the tour is going ahead as normal now" said band manager Louis Walsh yesterday. They have a busy week ahead of them but he says he's fine now"

Nicky spent the weekend recovering at home with his wife Georgina in Dublin. He fell ill shortly after the band completed a seris of concerts in Nottingham in the UK last Wednesday night. He was still too unwell to perform with the band on Friday so the band pulled out of two shows. The band have apologised to fans and plan to reschedule the shows for June.

The chart-topping act will perform the first of three shows in Cardiff tonight as they continue on the UK tour, their first tour since Bryan McFadden quit the band.Westlife reach The Point in Dublin on May 11 where they will perform nine sell-out shows.

BOYS STILL BEST IN THE WEST

THE boys were back in town as Westlife delighted more than 8000 fans
at Glasgow's SECC last night.

On the first evening of their five night sell-out tour, they showed
the absence of Bryan McFadden hasn't lessened their pop power.

Mark, Kian, Shane and Nicky arrived on stage to the strains of the
Pink Panther theme, sporting gangster-style striped suits.

After some slick moves with their tour's title song, Turnaround, and
My Girl, they swaggered into hits including Tell Me What Makes A Man
and World Of Our Own.

Slowing down the pace to a smoulder, they brought out the grand
piano and clarinet for Flying Without Wings and Swear It All.

Moving back up a gear to pay tribute to their fans, they harmonised
beautifully on Uptown Girl, neatly retitling it Glasgow Girl.

The Irish lads paid tribute to The Beatles with a cover of Help, and
by the time they sang Tonight My Love and Mandy, the crowd were
screaming with delight.

Vote for Bryan

By SUN ONLINE REPORTER

RECENT sleaze allegations against David Beckham have apparently not dented his image as a family man – as he is nominated for the Celebrity Dad of the Year Award.

Hundreds have voted for the England football captain – despite allegations of affairs.

Others nominated are TV host Jonathan Ross, Sir Bob Geldof and chef Jamie Oliver.

Two politicians, Prime Minister Tony Blair and Chancellor Gordon Brown, have been nominated for the award - for public figures who have impressed the public by "balancing a hectic public life with the demands of parenting".

Since nominations opened last week, the Chancellor has proved more popular than the Prime Minister.

Other names on the list, which was won last year by ex-Westlife star Bryan McFadden, include former Big Breakfast host Johnny Vaughan, the Earl of Wessex, Richard and Judy star Richard Madeley, former EastEnders star Martin Kemp and former England rugby captain Martin Johnson.

The winner will be presented with the award at a ceremony in the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on June 17.

The public has until June 15 to vote for their Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year nominee on www.epson.co.uk/celebritydad.

Westwives bag a treat

THE lads from WESTLIFE know how to keep a girl happy – give ’em retail therapy at Harvey Nichols.

SHANE FILAN and wife GILLIAN bagged some goodies, as did NICKY BYRNE and his missus GEORGINA.

They treated their other halves to a trip to the posh store in Manchester during a break from their UK tour rehearsals.

But spare a thought for lonely KIAN EGAN. His girlfriend, Hollyoaks actress JODIE ALBERT, was nowhere to be seen.

An onlooker said: “Shane and Nicky were all smiles and touchy feely with the girls. But Kian kept scowling.”

Manchester on stage review

The below review appears in full at www.manchester.co.uk, written by Claire Eckersley...

"Despite having recently lost one of their members, Westlife roll into Manchester undeterred and prove to their loyal fans that the four remaining boys can still put on an amazing show.

As darkness fills the Arena, Westlife emerge from under the stage in a blaze of lights and are greeted with rapturous applause and deafening screams from the thousands of people that fill the auditorium. They belt out Turnaround, the title track from their most recent album and after performing a number of classic songs and a quick costume change, the boys are back on stage on their trademark stools, taking the audience back to the group's early days by singing number one hits such as Swear it Again and Flying Without Wings."

Little Ant and Dec in Newcastle

Ever since they visited the band during tour rehearsals, for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, the mini-me Geordies seem to have taken a shine to Westlife... kind of...

They attended one of the recent Newcastle shows, and got up on stage with the band.

Don't seem to be showing them too much respect, though...

Kian's Message(??)

Hi, Kian here
This week we went back to the drawing board to talk about plans for our next album. Some time ago you may have seen media reports that our next big release is going to be a duets album with lots of singing legends like, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, teaming up with us. But we may shelve that project now that Bryan has left us.

There's a feeling here in the Westlife camp that the fans might prefer the four of us to do a new album on our own. I think it's important for ourselves, as well, to go into the studio as a four piece and create a new batch of songs. It's the next big step together after the live concerts, which, incidently, have been a great success.

We had some drama last week when Nicky went down sick with a painful kidney infection. With just the three of us left standing, it was impossible to go on with the show, so we were forced to cancel two concerts, Friday and Saturday. Nicky went home to Georgina for some tender loving care and made a great recovery. We had Sunday off anyway, and by Monday, he was back on stage with Westlife. It just
goes to show that we're all only human.

We're working our way back to Ireland and looking forward to taking the show home next month.

There was a hilarious incident in the UK last week, when we picked a girl out of the audience to sing on stage with us. We do it at every show and Shane holds the girl's hand during the song. But the fan, who was Asian, pulled away from Shane and insisted that she wanted Mark. "Go away" she said. We were falling around the stage laughing.

Poor old Shane didn't know where to look. Eventually, Mark came over and held her hand I don't know how we got through the song for laughing.

Kerry Takes Molly to Funtasia...

After a few crazy months of highs and lows in the McFadden household Kerry brought her daughter Molly for some much needed bonding at Funtasia in Bettystown...

What with Bryan leaving Westlife, Kerry going off to the Australian Outback for a couple of weeks, and numerous other work commitments it must have been a hectic start to 2004 for the McFadden's?

So it was no surprise to see Kerry and her cute-as-a-button daughter Molly out for the day at Funtasia in Bettystown, Co Meath with Bryan's mother Mairead.

Former Atomic Kitten Kerry openly frolicked with an ecstatic Molly on the numerous attractions at the Fun Park and looked none the worse after a late night in Lillies Bordello on Saturday.

Bryan and Kerry brought MTV's Tim Cash out for a drink in the celebrity haunt the night before. And some patrons of the club got a big surprise on the way in to see Bryan and Kerry outside having a cigarette because of the smoking ban!

Gillian gives her first `married' interview

Westlife wife Gillian Filan, wife of singer Shane has given her first interview.

Her wedding to the Westlife star hit the headlines on Christmas last but the couple denied all offers of interviews with magazines. But now Gillian Filan tells how she first met her now husband, how life has been since they got married and how she is looking forward to having children.

Here we exclusively reveal extracts from her interview to be carried in the new issue of VIP magazine.

How did you meet your husband?
Gillian: Shane and I met when we were about 10. We started going out
when we were 12, for about six weeks. Then about seven years ago, we
were both performing in the musical Grease and we started going out
shortly after. I remember Bryan kept telling us about Kerry when
they first met. He said, you have to see her, she's gorgeous!

What were your first impression of your husband, in three words?
Gillian: Really cute, caring, and considerate.

Gillian, you knew Shane before Westlife. Were you surprised when
your then boyfriend formed a boyband?

Gillian: It was kind of blurry in the start. I never remember thinking this is really big. Its hard to see it from the inside.

How did you deal with Westlife being away for long periods?
Gillian: The longest was about five weeks when they toured Asia. I was doing exams, so I couldn't go.

As a boyband, Westlife have attracted a lot of young female fans. Have any of them been jealous or nasty to you?
Gillian: Most of the fans are really good. I still have yet to come
across a bad fan.

If you read a story in the press that you know isn't true, how do you deal with it?
Gillian: Once they tell you it's not true and that they love you, that's the bottom line. There's no reason to get upset, because they will tell you the truth and that's the most important thing.

You are very young and have done so much in your 20s - will your 30s be an anti-climax?
Gillian: The way I look on it is, I want to travel in my 20s and then in my 30s, I want to settle down and have a family. After I finished my business management degree, I spent a year travelling with Shane. Then I was planning my wedding. After that I got down to working full-time. I have a Morgan shop in Sligo and one in Galway. I love
clothes and I travel with Shane's sister Mairead, who runs it, to do all the buys. So now is really about focusing on all that.

So what's your favourite Westlife song?
Gillian: If I Let You Go - and also Written In The Stars.

What about other interests?
Gillian: I like shopping, more shopping, partying and dancing! I do like exercise too, but I don't do it that often!

Gillian, you got married in the last year, what was the moment you remember most about your wedding day?
Gillian: For me it was just after we got married and the priest said, "I now pronounce you man and wife" and we kissed. Then Shane started to cry and that got me crying! Then everyone started crying.

What's the best aspect of marriage?
Gillian: I think it brings you an awful lot closer. I definitely feel a lot closer to Shane than I have in the last few years. I didn't think I'd feel like this, but we've been inseparable since we got married. We weren't really like that before; we could do our own things and that would be fine. It's great.

Would you like to start a family immediately or wait a while?
Gillian: I'd like to put it off for a few years. I'm 24, so I'm definitely not ready.

These extracts are taken from an interview Westlife wives, Gillian, Georgina Byrne and Queen of the Jungle Kerry McFadden have given to VIP magazine. The full interview can be read in the May edition of the magazine out this Thursday. The three wives are modelling in a fashion show titled VIP Live. It takes place at the RDS Concert Hall on April 29. The show will be hosted by RTE's Mary Kennedy.

Kian to judge the new Miss Ireland

Westlife star Kian Egan will be mixing with some of the most beautiful women in the country when he once more judges the Miss Ireland contest in July.

Kian stood in at short notice as a judge in the 2003 event which selected Rosanna Davidson, who earlier this year became the first Irish woman ever to win Miss World.
This time around the Westlife singer will be joining his manager, Louis Walsh and Irish rugby star Brian O’Driscoll at the Judge’s table for the contest, which will be televised live on TV3.

An audience of around 1,200 will be there to watch the crowning of a new Miss Ireland live.

Louis Walsh has roped in more than just his young protégé. Samantha Mumba will present the crown to the winner while Bellefire are also expected to be there on the night.

Chris Doran, Ireland’s entrant for Eurovision next month will also be performing on the night and could well be singing as Ireland’s latest Eurovision winner according to the bookies, who have made him joint favourite.

Whether Ireland will retain the Miss World crown is debatable though. No country has ever won back-to-back Miss World titles, but the organiser of Miss Ireland, model Andrea Roche, herself a past winner, believes the standard of entries are high enough to win again.

Meanwhile the Westlife wives will be stepping out on the catwalk on April 29 as part of the VIP Magazine Live Fashion Show. Gillian Filan, Georgina Byrne and Kerry McFadden will model designs from some of Ireland’s most exclusive boutiques.

The trio were in the ICE Bar in Dublin last Thursday to launch the show. Tickets cost upwards of E49 with VIP tickets for E90.

There is also a E10,000 diamond pendant which one lucky guest will win. The event is taking place in the RDS.

A chart topping rumour...

Message from Kian(??):

Hi, Kian here...
Word reached me from home this week that there were stories in the Irish papers about Westlife calling it a day if our next single doesn't make it to the top of the charts.

I don't know where that story came from, 'cause it certainly didn't come out of the Westlife camp. It's not something we would have said, as it's just not true.
First of all, with all the competition around these days we don't expect our singles to go to number one. It would be very nice, of course, and we'd be thrilled. But we know that some songs are going to do better than others and it doesn't mean that overall it shows a slip in support of the group.

Response
Certainly, judging from the reaction from fans on our current tour, the response we've been gettingis stronger than ever. There are amazing scenes in the venues all over the UK, with the crowds wildly cheering and singing along.

There's also a great range of people coming to the shows, from little kids to teenagers, twenty-somethings and mums. We're enjoying it like never before, so hopefully that will continue.

So, anything you read this week about us even thinking of winding up Westlife is just fiction. I heard that one report even suggested that we would call it a day at the end of the tour and go out on a high. How mad is that? Why would we want to split up at the end of a successful tour?

Take it from me, as long as the fans want us, Westlife have plans to be around for a long, long time.

Bryan, Ronan & Shane on The Late Late...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Bryan to Join Boyzone Tonight...

Following his departure from Westlife Bryan McFadden is to join-up with the former members of Boyzone Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch on The Late Late Show tonight...

Don't let the headline fool you (sick joke), Bryan McFadden is not joining Boyzone (at least we think he's not?) in the literal sense but if the rumours are true he is to appear on The Late Late Show with Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch tonight.

According to our snoops (and they have been fairly accurate of late) Bryan is to give his first live interview to Pat Kenny after his shocking departure from Westlife... And if the prerecorded interview he gave MTV's Tim Cash is anything to go by it will be No Holds Barred!!

Apparently Ronan will also appear on the show to sing his latest single Last Thing On My Mind with country sensation and total babe LeAnn Rimes.

And, if our moles are correct, Shane Lynch will be sitting opposite Mr. Kenny talking about his experiences on celebrity reality TV show The Games.

All-in-all it should be an interesting show so watch it! And don't be surprised if a few other familiar faces show up...
