Westlife Interview

Westlife took part in Harbour Fest concert an promoted for their forthcoming album "Turnaround" inHong Kong a couple of days ago. In the interview,
Nicky said he's longing for sons and hoped his sonscan marry Bryan's daughters. Meanwhile, Mark signed that it's hard for him to find a girlfriend.

Nicy and Mark said they didn't have much time to doshopping in Hong Kong (but Mark did bought watches andKian even went to go shopping alone)

Being asked Nicky's new marriage life with Georgina,he said he's very happy with her. "Do you want to be a dad when seeing Bryan's got 2daughters?" Nicky: Yeah, I would be very happy if I could but letthings take their course. It doesn't matter whetherthe baby is boy or girl as long as it's healthy. Itwill be nice if I have 2 sons, then they can marryBryan's daughters."

Have you thought of marriage?
Mark:No, I haven't really thought of it and I don'tfeel like enjoying marriage life but it would be good if I had. I will get married if only I meet my dream girl. I'm not the person who will get married cos theothers did. At the moment, I haven't got a girlfriendand my ideal girl doesn't need to have particular lookor special characteristics. It will be fine if I bump into her. But being in limelight, it's hard for me to find a girl I can trust on and she loves you not for my fame and money.

Have you worried that you guys are losing your
teenagers fans cos most of you have married?
Nicky: Not only female teenagers are our fans, butalso middle-aged men and women. If they repect us and love our music, they will stick to our songs.

Kian: "My Jodi is a brilliant girl"

Nicky and Bryan are married. Shane marries Kian's first cousin Gillian Walsh in the winter. And while Mark stays a bach elor boy, Kian, after some revealing kiss and tells is settled into a relationship with Hollyoaks honey Jodi Albert, who plays Debbie Dean and who used to be in Girl Thing. Kian said: ``A lot of the stories about me are bulls****. I kick myselfwhen I see my name attached to people like Jodie Marsh. I think: ``Jesus Christ, what were you ever at. You do feel used, but I've learnt to live with it. We've been doing this for five years andyouhave to live a life. But you have to be careful.

``My Jodi is a brilliant girl. We have a great time and a great relationship. She was in a band so there's a very good under standing and it's nice to have that. And it's not strange dating another Jodie.''

They've known each other for six years and got back together after Jodi bumped into Westlife's manager Louis Walsh. They met in London and it kicked off.

His relationship with Jodi has stopped the continuing kiss and tells which seem to have dogged the best looking of the Westlife camp.

Kian became hot property in the London party scene dating Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon and being chased by Amanda Holden and Jordan, although he turned them down.

So what does he think about Gareth Gates and Jordan? Kian said: ``He kept his mouth shut and thought it wasn't anyone else's business. But Jordan didn't see it that way and was looking for publicity.''

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shane will get a little nerve coaching from Nicky

Shane will be heading for the alter in County Mayo on December 28th
to marry Kian's cousin, Gillian Walsh.
"I can't wait," says Shane. "It is going to be a big Christmas style
wedding. I was actually talking to Gillian about it this morning,
saying how we are just really excited. Nerves will probably kick in
the week before, but I will get coaching from Nicky about how to deal
with that".

He's Kian as mustard
NO wonder Westlife's Kian Egan is crazy about his actress girlfriend Jodi Albert.
When she met the singer - who had flown up to spend a weekend with her - at Liverpool Airport she managed to look great without any make-up and dressed in a scruffy tracksuit.
Kian, whose band release their new single Hey Whatever today, has been dating the Hollyoaks actress for the past few months.
The couple recently went on a romantic Caribbean holiday together and he's already introduced her to his parents. Don't tell us Kian's finally growing up...

Westlife star pledges to adopt a child
Westlife star Bryan McFadden wants to adopt a child to give something back after his TV star wife went through years of living in care.Kerry McFadden lived on and off with her mother in Liverpool, spending time in care and with eight foster families. Her chart star husband said they now want to take on a child without a family, although it may not be for a few years.
"It's just because Kerry went through so much care when she was growing up, being fostered," he explained.
"It would be nice to pay that back for another child. It would be nice to help a troubled kid."
The Westlife star said he and his wife were thinking of adopting in a few years' time, although they were worried it would be "unfair to people who can't have children".
Bryan and his wife, who presents ITV1 daytime show Loose Women, have two children - Molly, and newborn Lilly Sue.
The Westlife singer was named celebrity dad of the year 2003.
But he said the plans were in abeyance for the time being because "it would be very unfair to adopt a child because I'm never home".
"It's a tough thing trying to spend time with the band and a career and spend time with the family too.
"I don't think it would be fair to bring another child into that."

Kian regrets snog with Jodie Marsh
Westlife star Kian Egan tells Now magazine that he is less than happy to be associated with former lap dancer Jodie Marsh. "I despise my name being mentioned in the same sentence as hers," Egan moaned. "I was with her in a nightclub once and that was it - we never even went on a date. We had a few drinks and ended up having a snog. She's just a fame seeking so-and-so." For the last three months, Kian has been dating 21-year-old 'Hollyoaks' star Jodi Albert. "Jodi's a fantastic girl and I'm very happy to be with her. It's a very good relationship," he said.

Mark & his PERFECT woman
Which leaves remaining Westlife bachelor Mark still to find his soul
mate, as all the other boys have settled down."Sometimes I wish I did have a wife or a girlfriend to go home to," says Mark. "But one day I will find my perfect girl. I will be
dragging that girl up the aisle if they agree to marry me. Angelina Jolie is my ultimate fantasy woman, she has got it all. She is very sexy, elegant, beautiful and has everything I would want in a woman."

Kian: Liz did all the chasing!
WESTLIFE's KIAN EGAN has given ex-girlfriend LIZ McCLARNON of ATOMIC
KITTEN a rather, erm, nuclear put-down.

Kian denies rumours that he kept calling Liz when he was drunk —
insisting she did all the chasing.

He also claims party-loving Liz was too much of a handful for him.

He says: "Liz is one strange cookie. I wouldn't go back there."

Don't forget that Liz was dating LEE RYAN from BLUE before Kian, and
then returned to Lee.

Sure the sour grapes are nothing to do with being dumped Kian?

The atmosphere will be very chilly when they next appear on Top Of
The Pops together.

Fire alarms
WHAT is it with WESTLIFE and fire alarms?

After having to flee in their underpants from a hotel last week because of an alarm they were struck again yesterday.

They had to exit their record company HQ twice after fire bells went off.

The band’s KIAN EGAN said: “I’m starting to think there’s something funny going on.

Aides of the band suspect that mad groupies set the alarms off in order to get their beloved band out of the BMG Records building.

Either that or someone is trying to set them alight.

Why Westlife dumbed Mr Nasty(simon cowell)
Westlife have dumped Simon Cowell for their fifth studio album because of his work with Pop Idol. Simon has been the band's A&Rman for four and a half years but the group -- Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, Bryan McFadden, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily -- didn't want to play second fiddle to the record man's other job -- as a judge on the reality tv show. Andtheband believe if they'd waited for busy Simon to work with them, their careers would have fizzled out. In an amazingly frank interview with 192, Kian from the group admits they are worried about the reaction to the new material and scared there is no interest in the band any more. Kian, 23, said: “We did the newalbum all by ourselves, there was no record company involvement. “Simon has no involvement whatsoever. He's just too busy with Pop Idol and if we'd waited for him to keep it going our careers would be over. “We took his role on ourselves and approached songwriters and producers, telling them we needed something newthat was exciting and fresh. We knocked someofthewritersbackandhadopenarms to others. We were trying to find a sound that was really, really strong. “It was a big step for five young guys to take it upon ourselves. But we feel we've done a fantastic job.''

The first single from the album is certainly different to what we usually expect from Westlife -- those big slushy ballads. Hey Whatever is out on Monday and is more Uptown Girl than the group's usual offerings. It's uptempo, with a few chunky guitars and the clapalong melody loved by drunken karaoke singers. This is make or break for the band who admit they've probably got two years left before they call it a day. Westlife, who have had 11 No. 1s, shouldn't be worried about changing a formula which has kept them at the top since their 1999 debut Flying Without Wings. But maybe cracks were appearing. Their last No. 1 was Unbreakable but their last single Tonight/Miss You Nights only managed the third spot, beaten by Room 5 ft Oliver Cheatham's Make Luv and Gareth Gates' Spirit In The Sky. Maybe the band are a bit jittery about younger stars like Gareth Gates stealing their thunder. But Kian disputes this.

He said: “We're not concerned about what number it goes in at, we are concerned about how many people buy it andhowmany people are still interested in Westlife. “If the single didn't go straight in at No. 1 it wouldn't be a disaster. We'd look at it to see if we had done something wrong. “It's a big step for us, but we didn't want Westlife to stay where it was and slowly fade away. We want something big and powerful to mark our ground as Westlife. “People like Westlife for the vocals and they relate to our songs. But we want to throw something into the mix to make it exciting for us and for them.'' Gone are the power ballads like Miss YouNights -- but don't think the new album will be Westlife doing hip hop, or Westlife as Oasis. Kian said: “It won't get rockier than Hey Whatever. There's a few chunky guitars but it's still a pop song which needs good singers. “That we want are epicstyle anthems that everyone can sing along to at football matches or concerts.'' The second single will probably be a ballad -- but will depend on the success of Hey Whatever. He added: “If it doesn't do well, then we'll look at the album and we'll pick a safer record.''

Kian admits much of the problems may have stemmed from their greatest hits package which drew a line under their first years and made people think they were about to split, despite calling it Volume 1. Kian said: “After the greatest hits album everyone was expecting us to break up. We always knew we weren't going to break up because we were getting on too well. It would be stupid to do that considering we are such good mates and still successful. “Westlife will continue for at least another two years, no one wants to branch out just yet.'' Luckily for Westlife, there are no obvious contenders to their throne. Blue have carved an edgier path and haven't had the same single success.

And the others? Triple 8 and D Side have hardly set the charts alight. Kian agrees: “DSide are Irish and decent lads, but we turned down Invisible quite a few years ago. “And Triple 8 I don't think an awful lot of. They're good, but these bands will come andgo. It's abigdreamtodowhatwedoand it's been amazing it's been so successful. “To succeed it's all about the songs and that's why we've spent so much time find ing the right ones for us.'' Their fanbase has changed as well. Where it used to be mainly teenage girls under 16, now 80 per cent are over 20 and most are between 20-40. The younger fans have gone to Busted, Blazin' Squad, Girls Aloud and Justin Timberlake, but Westlife have grown up. Kian said: “A lot of the stories about me are bulls****. I kick myselfwhen I seemynameattachedtopeo ple like Jodie Marsh. I think: “Jesus Christ, what were you ever at. You do feel used, but I've learnt to live with it. We've been doing this for five years andyouhave to live a life. But you have to be careful.

And what about the other fame seekers -- like Gareth Quinn who he had a fight with in Sligo two years ago? He sold his story in June this year claiming it was Kian who'd started the fight and called them `tramps'. He also denied Kian's claims he'd broken his arm and given his pal a bloody nose. But rather than distancing himself from the story, Kian said: “He is a tramp, no two ways about that. At the end of the day I'm the one travelling the world, selling mil lions of albums and being successful. “He accused me of provoking it which is extremely untrue. But I don't really care and don't pay attention to that.'' As well as the new album Kian is looking forward to the third Westlife wedding. There will beno Hello! style bunfights with journalists at this one, like there was with Nicky and Georgina Ahern's wedding. And Kian will be a best man at Shane's wedding, as will Mark. He added: “I grew up with Gillian. I won't need to say any strong words to Shane about being good to her. He's very kind to her. We are all enjoying our lives.''

From puppy love to PERFECT LOVE
Devoted Georgina Ahern and Nicky Byrne's romance began as puppy love… but turned into a deep lasting passion that is the stuff of fairytales. Cupid's arrow first struck the pair's eyes at the age of twelve. But it took three years before the youngsters overcame their agonising teenage shyness and arranged a date. The rest, as they say, is history. Neither 23-year-old Georgina nor 24-year-old Nicky has
ever dated anyone else.

Smitten Westlife hunk Nicky says of his bride: "She is my morning, noon and night. She's my everything." And lovestruck Georgina says of her groom: "He is totally and completely my life." The childhood sweethearts knew right from the start that they were meant to be together forever.

Nicky has said: "I went home at the end of the first day and told mum, `I've found the girl I'm going to marry'. "My mum just laughed at me. How could I possibly know who I was going to marry at that age-but I did know." That belief in each other and their future together has seen them survive the pressure of Georgina being swept into the spotlight as the Taoiseach's daughter' when Bertie came to power in
1997.

It has also seen them through the trials and tribulations of Nicky's meteoric rise from unknown wannabe to boyband heartthrob. Nicky describes Georgina as "his rock" and confesses he doesn't know how he'd survive without her. Yet because Westlife manager Louis Walsh initially slapped a marriage ban on Nicky and bandmates Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Bryan McFadden and Shane Filan, it was not until last Christmas Day that the pair got engaged.

The delay did not worry Georgina for as far as she was concerned; they were already inextricably tied together. For at the age of 15, romantic Nicky had given her a simple white gold ring, which she wore on her wedding finger. Speaking on her 21st birthday, Georgina said: "It's a white Russian wedding ring and only fits the third
finger of each hand. Nicky gave it to me when we were first dating. It means a lot to me."

She now wears a diamond ring, which Nicky presented to her on bended knee when he asked her officially to be his bride. And yesterday, the pair's glittering wedding in Paris-the Capital of Love-sealed their devotion. It was a far cry from the early years when the pair sat opposite each other in science classes and gazed at each other with unrequited love. In an interview given to a magazine in 2001, Nicky says: "The first thing I noticed about her were those eyes. It was like, oh my god, I could get lost in those eyes "From the moment I saw Georgina I put her on a pedestal. I could have a conversation with anyone but I couldn't talk to Georgina. I was afraid that
whatever I said would come out sounding stupid and she'd think I was a fool.

"We'd literally stare at each other through science lessons. In business studies, I'd pass her desk and we'd smile at each other." During the same interview Georgina said: "All the girls fancied him like mad, me included. "When I first saw him in his smart new uniform, he was posing against the corridor wall. I was hopeless at helping him break the ice. We just looked at each other from our desks."

Ten months after the duo finally got together, they were torn apart. Nicky, a promising goalkeeper was whisked away to train for Leeds United. But he missed his love so much, he cried himself to sleep every night. He has said: "The time I spent in Leeds United was terrible. I was trying to get home all the time." Georgina encouraged him to stick it out, however then picked up the pieces when he was
axed from the youth team for being "too short".

She has been there for him ever since, celebrating the highs and consoling him during the lows. So it comes as no surprise to hear Nicky say: "If it wasn't for Georgina I wouldn't be the person I am today." And if it wasn't for Nicky, Georgina wouldn't be the woman she is today. They are truly a couple who were made for each other - as their closest pals confirmed following yesterdays romantic ceremony. Westlife hunk Bryan said: "The service was lovely, it was beautiful, and Georgina looked gorgeous." Ex-Atomic Kitten wife Kerry beamed: "It was so beautiful, I had a tear in my eye."

Westlife boss Louis Walsh added: "I've had a great day. It's been great fun." Ronan Keating who arrived with wife Yvonne and sang at the church said: "It has been an honour. It was a special day and it was nice to be a part of it." It was the perfect day for a wedding with the sun beaming down from morning `til dusk.

As temperatures soared to 44C - the hottest day in France for over 40 years -curious Gallardon villagers gathered to watch a glittering cavalcade of celebrities arrive at the church. Caroline Downey, wife of MCD supremo Denis Desmond was among the first to arrive just after 2pm French time - 1pm here. She was alone as her hubby was
masterminded the mammoth Robbie Williams concert back in Dublin's Phoenix Park.

Then at 2.20pm there was a flurry of excitement when three of the Westlife hunks arrived with their partners. Bryan and Kerry, Kian and Hollyoaks girlfriend Jodi Albert, and Shane and fiancée Gillian Walsh happily let the crowd take snaps. Mark also posed for pictures when he arrived alone later.

Other guests included Girls Aloud cutie Kimberly Walsh, soccer legend Brian Robson, music industry heavyweights Nikki Chapman and Bill Hughes, pop Svengali Simon Cowell and Irish international and Leeds United ace Ian Harte.

But the wedding party, including Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, stayed out of sight after being bought up for €1 million by glossy mag Hello! Security was tight as top French security officers from the esteemed `Le Service de Protection des Hotes' followed closely behind the Taoiseach's car. But despite not even getting a second's glimpse of
Nicky and Georgina, Westlife fan Sonia Denkhider said her trip from Genoa, Italy, had been worth it. The 19-year-old gushed: "Nicky has always been my favourite and even though I didn't get to see him today, I still wanted to be at his wedding. "It's been a happy day for him and they are a beautiful, special couple."
